SOMEONE SHOULD TELL THEM - screening in Venice

About a year ago, I gave myself the challenge to write, film and produce my first short film in 3 days. At that time, I needed a little boost. I was feeling stuck in life, unfulfilled. I had just lost my grandma, which was an electroshock and shattered my conception of self. I started to question my identity and realised it was way more complex that I naively thought. After reading the Twisted by Emma Dabiri, I woke up in a new world where everything was to be re-imagined.

I am excited (and a bit emotional) to announce that this short film, my "poetic visual essay" as I pretentiously like to name it, was selected by the jury of the Venice International Art Fair and will be screened for the first time publicly at the Palazzo Albrizzi Capello from March 03 – 21, 2023.

The CANVAS International Art Fair will present collective and solo projects by leading and emerging international artists. The 2023 edition represents a forum for the direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers and art professionals. The art fair will feature paintings, sculptures, photography, installations, live performance and video art, including mine.

The MIXING IDENTITIES exhibition is a concept based on the rebuilding of new selves. The process of constructing ourselves goes through continuous relationships with the identities of others and the identities of communities, cultures and societies. The event focuses on the human body as a mutable system that connects us with other bodies and spaces in order to perceive the surrounding reality.
